Loquela

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2, 2026

Loquela is a full Android keyboard with on-device speech-to-text built in, published by Praxis Dynamics (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data Loquela accesses, what we do with it, and what we deliberately do not do.

What Loquela does not do

Loquela is a keyboard, which means it sees everything you type in any app. We do not log, store, transmit, or otherwise collect the text you type. Keystrokes and typed content stay on your device and are never sent to us or to any third party.

As of today, no data from your typing — including the words used to power autocorrect and suggestions — is collected or shared with us or anyone else. If that ever changes, for example an optional, opt-in way to improve suggestions, we'll disclose it here first and it won't be on by default.

We do not sell or share personal data with advertisers. Loquela has no ad network integration.

Voice input and microphone access

Loquela requests microphone access so you can dictate text using the mic key on the keyboard. Audio is only captured while you are actively using voice input.

By default, speech-to-text transcription happens on your device using a speech-recognition model you choose to download, and this is free. Your voice audio is processed in memory and is not saved to disk, and it is not transmitted to us or to any server.

Paid plans, when available, will offer optional access to larger, cloud-hosted models for improved accuracy. Using one of those models requires an internet connection and means your audio for that request is sent to the cloud model provider for transcription. The free, on-device experience never requires this, and cloud models will always be an explicit, opt-in choice.

Internet access

Loquela uses your internet connection to download the speech-recognition model files you select from the in-app model catalog, and, on paid plans, to send audio to a cloud-hosted model when you've chosen to use one. The free, on-device keyboard and voice typing do not require an internet connection to function.

Optional crash and diagnostic reporting

Loquela includes an opt-in crash reporting feature, powered by Sentry, that is off by default. If you turn it on in Settings, we receive crash reports and basic diagnostic information (such as device model, OS version, and error stack traces) to help us fix bugs. This never includes your typed text or voice audio. You can turn this off at any time in Settings, which stops future reports from being sent.

Permissions

Loquela requests the following Android permissions: microphone access (for voice typing), internet access, and network state access (to manage model downloads reliably). No other device permissions are requested.

Children's privacy

Loquela is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, note the change in the app.
